DIY Moped - Steps 1 > 5

STEP 1:

 Image

Place the tyre valve so it is at either the 4 o’clock or 8 o’clock position, this will help the fluid enter the tyre.

Use the valve key provided to remove the valve from the tyre, be careful to keep it safe! The tyre will deflate

If you have trouble using the valve tool, then take a look at the end of the next step (2) which may help.

STEP 2:

Gently pull out the black top of the bottle, a tube will come out with it. Once fully extended, remove the black top. The tube will fit snugly overt the valve stem, if it appears a little loose, then simply cut of a short length with scissors.

You can use the tube that has just been cut off, to help make the use of the valve removing tool a little easier. Just insert the valve tool into one end of the tube, it will fit very tightly and will extend the length of the tool to allow easier removal of the valve stem.

STEP 3:

Fit the tube over the valve stem and squeeze the bottle.

Install 250ml of product per tyre.

You will see a scale on the side of the bottle which indicates how much liquid has been installed. Almost all moped / scooter tyres (all but the very large “off road” tyres) require 250ml of ShieldWell product, the scale on the side of the bottle makes this easy to check as it is graduated in 125ml, 250ml, 375ml and 500ml intervals. One 500ml bottle is sufficient for both tyres in most moped / scooter tyres.

STEP 4:

Remove the tube (replace the black top to prevent spillage).

Replace the valve with the tool provided.

Remove any spilled liquid with a little water.

Re-inflate the tyre to the correct pressure, check with your manual or dealer if you are unsure.

STEP 5:

Repeat appropriate steps for each of the tyres.

Dispose of the empty bottle safely and with consideration for the environment.
