ShieldWell™ is the ideal tyre sealant to use in wheelchairs and mobility vehicles. Nothing could be more inconvenient than getting a puncture on a wheelchair or mobility scooter.
ShieldWell™ ensures that a puncture doesn't leave you stranded! ShieldWell™ is able to seal tyres with punctures in the tread area quickly, allowing immediate use after re-inflation. ShieldWell™ is non-flammable and is safe for air transportation should you wish to take your wheelchair or mobility scooter on holiday or business trips. The ShieldWell™ puncture protection system is easy to install through the tyre pressure valve. Tyre puncture protection keeps you moving!
A lot of people suffer from debilitating conditions that require the use mobility vehicles to allow freedom of movement.
Dependence on your mobility vehicle such as a wheelchair or scooter become an essential element of everyday living, however, in order to remain "comfortable" having pneumatic tyres rather than solid tyres is important. Solid tyres can reduce the range of a scooter for example, they also make it more difficult to ride up and down kerbs and most importantly they make the ride rather harsh. Use of pneumatic tyres on the other hand get rid of these problems, but there is the possibility of a puncture.
We have spoken to many people at Mobility Shows such as Naidex and Independent Living, and the majority have said that they need to maintain their independence through being mobile. This allows them to remain part of the local community and have the ability to share events with their families and sometimes to go on holidays.
This is where ShieldWell™ has a role to play. By installing our sealant into the tyres you can reduce the chances of a puncture by up to 90%. Most of the punctures we see are caused by thorns or small tacks or nails. Making Life Easier
The majority of mobility users are dependent on their vehicles, it makes sense to use pneumatic tyres protected by ShieldWell™ to give the best ride possible whilst maintaining "Peace of Mind" knowing that punctures can be a thing of the past.
Chris Summerscales met us in 2004 at the Naidex show and has been an avid fan ever since. Read what he had to say about us:
Firstly let me thank you for introducing me to ShieldWell. My first thought when I received my sealant was one of doubt. But being a person who will try most new things, gave it a go. When you told me how it worked and how to install it I did think it was too easy and there must be a catch. However, it was easy and there is no catch. Being an active user, my shooting takes me all over the UK and parts of Europe, so punctures were a common thing and I just had to make do. I no longer have these problems since installing ShieldWell. Puncture repairs are a thing of the past. I got a puncture in June 2004, just after installing ShieldWell, it worked and I have no problems. I now have peace of mind knowing I have one less thing to think and worry about.
